2008 competition

"Sheep Whole and Wolf Full!"

Dear pupils, teachers and club leaders,

Thank you for taking part in our competition, "Sheep Whole and Wolf Full!". It was very difficult to chose a winner in this competition, as all those taking part tried very hard. We therefore assessed the quantity, suitable colour and quality of the material sent.
1st place - pupils of class 6.A., Spišský Hrušov primary school are invited to a sheep farm with a practical excursion and explanation
2nd place - pupils of I. Krasku primary and infant school, Trnava - win a statuette of a wolf from our UK partner, the Wolves and Humans Foundation.

For their willingness and effort we thank all those taking part, including teachers:

We are sending stickers and postcards to all pupils who took part and their teachers will receive copies of our teaching manuals about wolves and bears.

We have already installed fladry at the first sheep farm, in Jamník, where we will monitor predator activity and the effectiveness of this damage prevention measure. We still have enough material left for more farms, where we will install fladry as required. We welcome cooperation with groups of pupils and free-time clubs in monitoring farms. At the same time we offer training to people interested in taking part further in this project and helping with the installation of fladry at sheep farms in their own area.
